Finland Trip: Day Five

3 May, 1997

First day of the camp. Listen carefully. The group is keen and interested. After all, this is why we are here. To learn and have fun.
Position and movement are the building blocks of a good and better than just good goalie.
An advanced student examines the angles on the net as seen from the shooters side. The Goalie controls what you are willing to give the shooter. In so doing, you can anticipate the shot.
Taking the job seriously. The mental physic is the difference between talented goalies and instinctive goalies.
Power is the weapon of an aggressive goalie. Dig in and move with power. Explode out of your stance and move on the shooter, taking his options away.
