ABOUT

Aaron C. Cornwell

Aaron Cornwell first came to Gold in the Net in California in 1995.  He later made trips up to British Columbia’s Vancouver Island with his parents, Mike and Diana Cornwell.  Aaron had such passion for the game of hockey which is what most likely drew the company President and CEO to him.

“Aaron was self driven and motivated; he knew everything he wanted to do with his life and how he was going to do it,” explained Elderbroom, who had been making plans for Aaron to become an Instructor for the Gold in the Net program. He planned on playing Junior “A” hockey in British Columbia, while furthering his education to become a Marine Biologist.

Aaron C. Cornwell was only 17 years old when his life was tragically taken in an automobile accident in April of 1999.  One can only imagine the pain and anguish that consumes a parent when their only child is taken from them.  Throughout the ordeal, Perry and the Cornwell’s have always remained close and share a common bond.  Volume 6 of the instructional DVD series was dedicated to the memory of Aaron, but that was only the beginning.

In 2005, Gold in the Net took another step towards setting yet another standard in the hockey school industry with the announcement and the introduction of the Aaron C. Cornwell Memorial Scholarship Fund.   Gold in the Net believes that education is an important part of our youth’s development, with so many families dedicating so much of the family resources to hockey, it is nice to know that there are programs like this to help out.
